Questions and Answers
Question Why can you only ship to the states that are listed?
Answer Alcohol beverage laws are complex and each state outlines its own laws regarding the direct shipment of alcoholic beverages. Therefore, many states do not allow our carrier, United Parcel Service, to make deliveries of alcoholic beverages to their state's residents directly from the winery.
Question I thought our State recently passed a law allowing direct shipment of wine, why isn't our State listed?
Answer Most of these States are still not truly reciprocal, and still require expensive licenses and vast amounts of paperwork to allow direct shipment. As usual, this favors only large producers, and ignores the needs of small wineries, as well as you the customer.
Question What are my alternatives, if I do not live in one of the currently listed states?
Answer You should contact one of the three California wine shops we have listed. If they cannot help you, contact us by phone or fax.
Question Why is shipping to some states so expensive?
Fine wine should be shipped via air to protect the quality of the product. We also incur the cost of the styrofoam shipping container.
